In an interview with the Rocky Mountain News on Monday, Independent Party presidential hopeful (it is hard to type that without believing it should be followed by a punchline), Ralph Nader, made some very interesting statements.
When asked what is different about Senator Obama relative to other democrats he has run against, he stated that the only difference was that Senator Obama is “half African-American.” Oh yes he did. He went there.
He also said that Senator Obama is trying to (are you sure you are ready for this, hold on to your chair) “talk white.”
Did a person running for president actually accuse another candidate of talking white? Seroiusly?
It is interesting that the other candidates have mostly relied on their supporters and spouses to say incredibly stupid things, but not Mr. Nader. He doesn’t need others to do his “stupid” work, he is perfectly capable of doing that himself.
This crazy candidate (I will avoid the other descriptive terms that come to mind) even took a shot at Jessie Jackson while trying to explain why Senator Obama is talking white. He stated that one of the reasons he is talking white is (hold on, I have to compose myself) he doesn’t want to “appear like Jessie Jackson.”
Holy smokes!
Is this guy for real? I seriously think he has come to believe that he can gain more support than he has gotten in past elections by getting the racist vote.
Remember all of the talk about voter who said race mattered in the elections mostly voting for Senator Clinton. It seems he heard that and decided that being a racist was his best bet in trying to get support.
I have looked at comments on several blogs and some chats on the subject and this foolishness seems to have some support.
As for me, a person who does not belong to political party, I have to say I hate to have to refer to myself as an independent voter for fear that I will be associated to such an person (I’m being politically correct and nice instead of using many of the other descriptive terms that come to mind for this person).
Just to leave us with a thought, what exactly are the implications of saying that a person of color or of mixed origin can attempt to “talk white?”
Is he referring to that fact he does not use slang or “Ebonics” or sound like any of the rap stars on the television. That would mean that he is saying that those who are white and “talk white” are okay in sounding educated, but any person of color or mixed origin who “talks white” is faking it to distance themselves from someone (as Mr. Nader implies) as stupid as Jessie Jackson or other persons of color.
Is he saying that “talking white” speaks of people who have money and that he is avoiding talking about those in the inner cities and poor neighborhoods of our country. As if there are no people of color in these better neighborhoods and only people of color live in poor areas and inner cities.
Need I go on? How dare anyone who is not a publicly proclaimed racist support this man. This is an assault on our sensibilities and the Independent party has a responsibility to all of us who call ourselves Americans to pull the plug on this racist madman.
What is going on in the presidential race? Democratic Senator Barack Obama went at republican Senator John McCain with both guns blazing in discussing the economy and I began to think: “Finally, we will get to the real issues.”
Boy oh boy was I mistaken. I was all ready for Senator McCain (who is now known for being weak on matters of the economy at the worst time ever for that to be the case) to get with his advisors and start devising strong solutions for our economic woes. Then I pictured this huge back and forth campaigning where two different plans that would both make some sense would be brought before the American people and we would all be thinking; “Wow, what great candidates.”
This however, was not what happened. Senator McCain went back to that absolutely stupid “Gas Tax Holiday” idiocy that helped us all understand economy was not his strength. Then Senator Hillary Clinton supported it also and some of the cooties of being economically illiterate seemed to get on her and her campaign.
I thought; “That’s it? All of those campaign strategists and speechwriters and whoever else in his political entourage and that is it?”
But, no it was not. Then he went back to this town hall meeting idea. I admit it is a pretty cool idea, but seriously, one candidate is just going to dictate how another candidate is going to campaign for the entire summer and this other candidate is expected to just agree and go along with this? (Is this one of those places where people on the internet us the letters “LOL?”
I personally believe that both candidates that are left from the two major parties have these gaping holes in their qualifications for president (particularly saying lots of things that neither of their voting records support), but if this is the best Senator McCain can come up with against a person with a gift for speaking and a charisma that attracts so many, Senator McCain will be reduced to a straw man for Senator Obama to knock over.
If there are any advisors to Senator McCain reading this, please gather some experts on the economy and draw up something substantial that will appeal to the public. Then spend some time educating Senator McCain on this plan. Once that is done release him on the public with these fresh new ideas and a solution to a real problem in the here and now. That will make him a solid candidate and definitely make the race more interesting.
I suppose Senator McCain may have such plans and be keeping them hidden is his grand plan to unleash this weapon of mass destruction on Senator Obama during these town hall meetings, but let’s face it, that is not going to happen. An I am not sure if it were to happen that the results would be what Senator McCain expects. I remember a debate between the Republicans that was televised on CNN that had an approval meter that was on the screen the whole time. The relevant fact here is that almost every time Senator McCain spoke the meter shot down. That went double when he got excited or agitated.
I think to win, Senator McCain better come up with more than the stuff he has put out there so far.
If Senator McCain does not retool his message, this will be one of those really boring elections where one candidate just sinks fast as soon as the votes start to be cast. Today I was aghast at his lack of anything to say and found his whole message just plain boring.
Just as Senator Hillary Clinton and former president Bill Clinton pulled the sexism and conspiracy by the media cards the supporters of Barack Obama have decided to pull out the ace in the Obama camp hole this weekend: The race card. Or is it the “Pastor’s Lost His Mind” card.
This is unexpected however. It was not a certain Mr. Wright it was a Caucasian priest named Rev. Michael Pfleger. I guess all that talk about Senator Obama not getting Catholic support is out of the window (a joke of course but wait until you hear the rest).
He made statement recently like: There’s “a whole lot of white people crying” because the presidency is within the reach of a black man, and informing us that Hillary Clinton is crying because “there is a black man stealing my show”, or his favorite Hillary quote “I’m white and this is mine”.
The real humor is in the fact that this is all support that Senator Obama doesn’t really want, but it keeps finding not only him, but finding it’s way into the media. He has been trying to work feverishly to distance himself from this person and his comments, but here we go again.
You have to ask yourself if these people are actually supporters of his or some kind of political double agents sent in to sabotage his campaign. It seems that all of the strongest supporters of all three of the candidates cannot help but doing things that hurt the one they are supporting.
Are we all ready for a few weeks of listening to sermons from Reverend Pfleger.
The current primaries give me the sensation of being a three ring circus. It starts with an announcer and a big build up. Then all sorts of things start happening, too much to even follow. But, soon one main attraction starts then another in the next ring, and then a third in the other ring. When that happens you just have to keep switching from ring to ring watching what is going on until you get bored with that one then you move your eyes to the next ring.
I believe that the extended nature the prolonged Democratic primary and the desperate nature of Senator Clinton’s actions have been too much for supporters of all three candidates. Their supporters have all resorted to pulling the most divisive of cards from their bags of tricks.
Presidential hopeful, Senator Hillary Clinton picked up a major endorsement today. Today she announced that she has received the endorsement of Ricky Martin. That’s right, Ricky Martin.
I suppose as she is looking to gain some ground on Senator Obama in Puerto Rico, she would like to have the endorsement of familiar names, but this past his prime, pretty boy singer of Menudo fame? The idea of announcing this at this point in the game is silly. It makes it look like she is really reaching.
This added to the weird statements she and her husband have been making where they say that they are ahead in the popular vote by excluding states they don’t like to count and counting the votes of states where the campaigning didn’t take place and all of the candidates were not on the ballot, would almost be funny if there were no chance that she might be able to convince her party to back her the way she has convinced her supporters.
Senator Clinton and her husband have been pulling out the conspiracy theory card and the gender mistreatment card a lot over the past couple of weeks because the media has been so hard on her. How could the media not be so hard on her?
Don’t get me wrong, Senator Obama has had his silly moments too like the strange “Auschwitz” incident from last weekend, but some of the antics from the Clinton camp are so ridiculous that nobody can resist discussing them.
Imagine a child that was just spotted by a parent trying to sneak a cookie from the cookie jar. Just as the parent is about to scold the child, the child’s older brother, trying to steal the family car drives it through the garage door and starts trying to tell the parent it’s not a big deal. Which one do you think the parent would confront immediately?
The need to discuss these things is multiplied by the fact that some people are taking these things very seriously. Even some well educated and well spoken people get on the television and try to defend such nonsense fumbling around trying to make sense or at least sound like it.
I am personally embarrassed for her and some of the most outspoken of her supporters. I am not speaking from a perspective of today, I mean years from now when these clips resurface and people not caught up in the emotion of the moment are thinking through the nonsense that took place. How will history view the making up of your own statistics that meet whatever need you feel you have? How about the division in the party that is about to happen (it is already there, it is just the final explosion we are waiting for), who will be blamed when history reviews this period? How about trying to get the vote to count in her favor from a state where her main competitors were not even on the ballot because of what the party stated and she publicly stated her support for?
Will the endorsement of pop Singer Ricky Martin change the race? I say yes. I think it will be a symbol of the ridiculous nature of this campaign. Not the superdelegates, or realistic numbers and statistics, but it is the endorsement of Ricky Martin that best represents what is going on in the Clinton camp. Nonsense! That is what is going on.
But I have to admit, this is not politics as usual, it is much crazier.
This endorsement, may gain some segment of support in Puerto Rico, but the fact it is so important to the Clinton campaign reduces the campaign to a sideshow. And possibly the whole presidential race taking place this year.
Last week’s comments, made by Senator Hillary Clinton, about the assignation of Robert F. Kennedy were at the least extremely careless. I have listened to several days of commentary about this topic and this strange statement and have come to the only logical conclusion: Freudian Slip.
For those not familiar with the term “Freudian Slip,” the term is used most commonly to refer to a slip of the tongue that reveals an unconscious desire, fear, or belief. An example:
Let’s say a person was afraid of being laid off. That person gets a really strong cup of coffee and wants to tell another person the coffee is so strong that he feels wired. But, instead the man says: “This coffee is so strong I feel fired.” This was in the man’s unconscious thoughts, but not what he was trying to communicate. Yet it slipped into the communication of the man and accidentally gave the other people around a clue as to what he was thinking.
Now, back to what Senator Clinton recently stated. The implication that how late it was in the race when Robert Kennedy was assassinated somehow demonstrates that a continued run by Senator Hillary Clinton is a stupid thing to say by any standard and clearly demonstrates the exact opposite.
The real untruth here, is the idea that as much behind the scenes discussion has taken place about keeping Senator Obama safe and the many death threats he has received, somehow Senator Clinton would now like us to believe that there has never been any discussion of what happens if he were to be assassinated.
Let’s face it, at this point, the only real hope Senator Clinton has is some terrible mishap or tragedy in the Obama camp. We are talking something much worse than what church he attends, but something that makes him look like the absolute worst candidate ever or something more terrible in nature. It is late in the game, the candidates have been campaigning endlessly, the campaigns have been tough on each other, they are extremely tired, and things are looking really bad for Senator Clinton.
Even if dismissed as a terrible thing to be thinking about, it must have come up at some point. I am also sure that as things get more desperate and the Senator gets more tired, the mind will do some strange things. (Not to mention the amount of pictures I have seen recently where Senator Clinton has beer or liquor in her hands)
I do not believe the people who say this was some kind of malicious attack on Senator Obama or some passive aggressive ploy, but I do believe that there is more here than just an honest mistake.
I think the desperate hope of winning this race and the hopelessness of it all at this point simply made her make a “Freudian” mistake that should indicate to her and her closest friends that it is time to slow down a bit and “get a grip.”
It’s like when a person, who would not do so normally, is so desperate to win something that he or she cheats when the other person is not paying attention. Others the thought crosses their mind and they catch themselves and don’t do it. The perfect place for a Freudian Slip to make the person accidentally use the word “cheat” in a sentence.
An honest mistake that indicates a person is in a dangerous state of mind! That is what I see.
In Kentucky and West Virginia polls have shown that large numbers of voters stated that race was a big issue in their choice of candidates. Most of those voters voted for Senator Hillary Clinton. These two states are the big wins that she is waving before the world as the reason she is still running and the reason she is a better candidate for president.
For the past few days I have listened to commentary about this issue and I have tried to keep an open mind. The problem is that no matter how you cut it, if you say race is the main decision for why you are going to pick the candidate you are going to pick and you pick Senator Clinton over Senator Obama, what does that make you?
I understand that this same phenomenon exists with Senator Obama who has completely stolen the African American vote from Senator Clinton and her clan, but the African American voting block is a small one and has not been used by Senator Obama as the reason he should be elected.
There is an obvious truth that is being avoided. A few people in the media have carefully hinted to it and online it is much of the political conversation this week. What is this truth? The demographic that has kept Senator Clinton in the race over the past few weeks and that is what she says shows she is a better candidate is the racist Caucasian vote.
The fact that both candidates have large blocks of their support that support them solely because of their race is a huge indicator of what is going on in the Democratic Party. The party is divided along the lines of race and has large segments of it’s base tied up in racist populations and subcultures.
I am thankful that Senator Obama has spoken out against such things, but it is hard to believe with his church history and a certain Mr. Wright as a friend. On the other hand, Senator Clinton seems happy to have the support of the newly discovered racist left wing voters. This is a far cry from the past politics of her previous campaigns and her husband’s.
If Senator Clinton wishes to have a future in politics, keeping in mind that a much of her support in the past has come from African American voters, she needs to stand against this sort of thing publicly. She needs to stand before the world and say, “I would rather loose than win off of a racist vote.” Those kind of steps would do the whole country a bit of good. Senator Obama could do with a little more of that ideology in his camp also.
The thing is, if the rest of her campaign is going to focus on her wins in states that said they voter for her because of race and on a win she achieved in a state where Senator Obama was not even on the ballot, God help us all if she somehow ends up being the candidate for the Democrats.
If that terrible day arrives, she may as well shave her head and campaign wearing swastika arm bands. She will immediately become the poster child for racism, particularly against African Americans. The Lord only knows what will become of her party.
Healing and unifying the country cannot begin with you, if your support base is a base of racist people.
I bet John McCain is glad he gave up on his attempts to stop Martin Luther King Day.
The odds against Senator Hillary Clinton are moving from highly unlikely, past impossible, to just stupid. Her advisors are divided, some now saying she should drop out (so she might have a future in politics beyond this race) and some saying to keep on fighting to the bitter end (sort of the captain going down with the sinking ship).
It looks as if the battered Senator, Barack Obama, will be victorious after all in his bid to get the nod of the Democrats. He has the lead in the popular vote (even though Senator Clinton keeps claiming the votes of the states he didn’t run in and one of which he wasn’t even on the ballot give her the lead). The problem is that the price has been heavy in terms of his electability. The man who once was seen as the candidate to unify the country is now the face of the division of the party (thanks to Senator Clinton’s insistence on going down with the ship) and is the face of the racial divide still existing in the country (thanks to a certain Mr. Wright).
These candidates have beaten each other so badly that a presidential race that should have been easily won by the Democrats due to the unpopularity of the current Republican white house is now a pretty even fight between the Democrats and the Republicans.
I personally think the parties need to go or at least revamp their value systems and stands, but why go through so much effort to defeat yourselves?
The truth is that much of the blame rests squarely on the shoulders of Senator Hillary Clinton and her party’s inability to stop her when she is single-handedly destroying the party she claims to be building. If Senator Clinton is the face of anything it is the face of stubborn, selfish people who will do anything not to lose.
When will these two stop this nonsense? It seems that Senator Obama has moved on to campaigning against Senator McCain and that Senator McCain is campaigning against Senator Obama, but the truth is Senator Clinton is attacking both and her party is loosing in the end.
I am not sure what people are telling her to continue that have disguised themselves as good advisors, but they are definitely not loyal to her party or to her. These people clearly feel this is the one big shot or they would be thinking about her getting the mark of being the person who ruined what should have been the easiest election ever.
Senator Clinton should stop now. As an obviously selfish person, she should do it to preserve her legacy, her future in politics, and to avoid passing the mark of “crazy person” on to her daughter (who in public speaking seems to be the most sensible politically and otherwise in the family). I believe these reasons should be her real reasons for leaving the race along with the facts that she keeps destroying her party’s chances at winning and the faith of the people in her party at all.
But, it is a free country. That means each individual has the right to look stupid in the public eye for all of us to watch in amazement.
Senator John McCain is in Florida again attacking Senator Barack Obama’s statements about negotiating with “enemy” dictators and governments. This time it is about having talks with the Castro family. Does Senator McCain not want to get elected?
I understand that in Florida there is a large Cuban population many of which do not like the Castro family (I am no fan of the Castro family myself) but he has again set himself up. I ask you, what is the Senator Obama camp going to say?
- Same old Washington.
- Four more years of the failed Bush ideology.
- We have been at this silence with the Cuban government for several decades and it hasn’t worked yet. Senator McCain just wants to continue failed policies.
- All of the above.
I personally think that Senator McCain is not good at campaigning at all. Many of the things he says make sense, but his worst enemy seems to be himself. It is as if he never gets past the word campaign to the word strategy.
I am thoroughly amazed at his inability to move himself forward in this race while the Democrats are fully engaged in destroying each other. He simply makes himself an easy target every time he is in the public eye.
Then he has gone to celebrate Cuban Independence Day. I would say that he might have waited until about the time race relations began to come up again as he has just begun to overcome the stigma he had amongst African Americans as the face of opposition to celebrating Martin Luther King Day as a holiday.
If you have not yet heard of this issue, rest assured it will be coming as soon as all of the commotion in the Democratic Party subsides. In 1983 Senator McCain voted against and spoke out against the Martin Luther King holiday. The only reasoning he has given for this was being a young senator (not young in age however, he was almost 50 at the time), his state of Arizona didn’t have a large African American Population (I’m not touching that one), and he was fresh out of the military (are there few African Americans there also).
As soon as race comes up, particularly up against Senator Obama, this will come up. If you were paying attention on Martin Luther King Day this year, you may remember seeing Senator McCain trying to explain this to a group at what appeared to be some kind of rally only to get booed. His only way to defend himself against the coming attacks from the Democrats I fit is in fact Senator Obama he ends up facing is to bring up that Wright person (if you are new to my blog I refuse to call him reverend as that is a show of respect I am not willing to afford this person), and that can only end with the whole he is a racist argument.
It seems to me that with all of the fighting amongst the democrats and the division building within their party he should have a pretty easy time. The truth is nobody seems to be stopping him from setting himself up. He is starting to look like a double agent that is trying to get a democrat in office. Sort of a Kamikaze suicide bomber thrown at the Republican Party that will destroy the party and himself at the same time.
There must be someone in his campaign that can see this and stop him from making these grave errors in judgment? I suppose with so many people jumping ship from his campaign staff, that person may not yet be in place, but he had better get that person there soon.
This weekend, for some very strange reason, I finally got around to paying attention to these obviously extremely relevant flag pins that everyone has been on and on about. I never really thought that flag pins on a politician meant any more to me than lures on a fishing hat. I always assume they must mean something to the person, but I have bigger fish to fry (like that pun).
My research was definitely in the form of casual observation, but strange as it seems, the only flag pin I noticed all weekend in clips and in rallies was proudly on the chest of Senator Barack Obama. Not that they were not on the other candidates, I simply was not able to see them if they were.
I never really understood Senator Obama’s aversion to wearing flag pins, but then again I was never sure that it made a difference. I consider myself to be pretty patriotic, yet I do not own nor remember wearing a flag pin. I did however suddenly have huge questions when Senator Obama refused to wear on because although I do not wear them, if it was the norm for something patriotic I was participating in, I would have no problem wearing one. So I assumed that prominent flag pins were the norm in politics and that it was rare and possibly unpatriotic for government officials not to wear them.
Imagine how mortified I was to see this absolute necessity ignored by the other candidates and several politicians all weekend. I am exaggerating of course about my response, but I was deeply surprised not to see these things.
I quickly looked at some pictures of Senator Hillary Clinton online in a few different places and I only found one picture that looked like she was wearing a pin that may have been a flag. I looked at several photos of Senator John McCain and noticed a tiny pin in maybe two of the pictures, but couldn’t even tell if they were really pins much less flags.
I know it is a silly issue and I tried to ignore it as long as I could, but it finally got the best of me and I decided to pay attention. The problem is that when I did finally pay attention the whole issue turned out to be smoke, mirrors, and invisible flag pins.
I am thinking that if this is such a big issue for Senator Obama that he made some kind of stand publicly, why was this stand overrun simply by a man handing him a flag pin. On the other hand, if the other candidates and their campaigns want to make such a fuss about this, they should practice what they preach.
I mean if flag pins were the end of the world for the average American and I was running for office I would have a flag hat, flag shoes, a flag tie, a big flag belt buckle, etc.
I thought the whole thing was nonsense to begin with, but now I see that the people who brought us the nonsense can’t even face it themselves.
I’ll show them all. I will wear my flag pin proudly (once I get one).Today Senator Barack Obama was parading around like he had just won an Olympic gold medal. He was in the public and on television beginning a media blitz. But, what are the other two candidates from the major parties doing?
Senator Hillary Clinton’s camp was busy writing a letter to Senator Obama. What, was she finally going to bow out gracefully? Of course not!
It begins with pleasantries such as things about what an historic and exciting campaign it has been and so on (the sound you just heard was the sound of me sticking my finger in my mouth mimicking what it looks like when one gags one’s self). Then comes the shovel and the shoveling. Then comes some dribble about the principles of the party being that citizens should be allowed to vote and that those votes should be counted. This letter goes on and on and sounds so silly and insincere that I can hardly stand to read it. This letter is addressed to a P.O. Box and is to Senator Obama.
Here is what really happened: The letter is an attempt to generate some kind of good press with all of the bad press Senator Clinton is getting right now. The Hillary Clinton camp distributed the letters publicly, long before it ever could possibly reach the P.O. Box or hands of Senator Obama. The wording of the letter is clearly not intended to persuade Senator Obama to do anything, the intention obviously a publicity stunt. The worst part is even without all of the details you probably assumed all of this on your own.
This whole stunt seems a little desperate and childish doesn’t it.
Dear Senator Clinton’
We can all hear, just say whatever you want to say to the senator and to us out loud. What’s with the stupid letter?
Wishing you would drop out to remain respected;
Alethinos Paradoxos
P.S. I think it may be time to bow out gracefully, you are starting to seem desperate and you are beginning to look more like a sore looser than a great and determined political mind.
Wow, maybe her letter is not so bad after all, that feels pretty good. This letter writing thing is okay. Which leads me to the next tasty tidbit.
The next question? Drum-roll please?
The question is: “What is the Senator John McCain camp doing?”
Answer: “Writing letters to Senator Obama, of course.”
Next we get news of a letter from a certain Mark Salter. Author, coauthor of books with Senator McCain, and long time employee of John McCain.
Let’s backtrack a little.
In an interview earlier, Senator Obama said that Senator McCain had “lost his bearings.” This explains why “Mark Salter, Senior Advisor” (exactly as his name appeared on the letter) starting by saying something about this being an attempt to point to Senator McCain’s age. When I heard this my first thoughts were: “Is Mr. Salter, “Senior Advisor,” implying that the only people who “loose their way” are people who are old. I can honestly say that I did not even consider age when I heard the comment.
The letter attempts to condemn those sorts of attempts to say things that elude to something that you cannot say directly, but if you can get into the minds of voters will affect how they vote. I agree totally.
Then it happened. By “then,” I mean in the same letter to Senator Obama. Mr. Salter goes on to say that Senator Obama is specially protected by the media and the public because he has a “protective barrier” which “declaring serious limits to the questions, discussion and debate in this race.” Hold that thought…
Then comes a couple of paragraphs about “Hamas” and how the political adviser to the leader of Hamas thinks Senator Obama could bring change and would make a good president. The “kicker” comes with the statement, “The McCain campaign has never suggested that Senator Obama supports Hamas' agenda, but…” Did you notice what word I stopped at. Senator McCain may not, but clearly his “Senior Advisor” is about to.
Then he goes on to evoke the names of every scary person on the planet only leaving out “Freddy Kruger” and “Jason” probably because they do not really exist. He used the names of “Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad,” “North Korea's Kim Jong II, Venezuela's Hugo Chavez and Cuba's Raul Castro” in discussing who Senator Obama has stated he meet with to try to make deals with our enemies.
Okay, have you been keeping score?
1. Senator Obama has something about him that makes him especially protected from questions, discussion, and debate. What exactly is that something he is getting at?
2. Senator McCain or his camp would never try to say that Senator Obama supports Hamas (is this a good place to type the letters “LOL”). Why then does the word “Hamas” appear five times in six successive sentences. Hmmmm?
3. Also, I cannot see any hidden attempts to bring up the past rumor that Senator Obama is secretly Muslim here.
4. Then came all the scary names: “Iran,” “North Korea,” “Kim Jong,” and “Hugo Chavez.” No hidden messages here.
Let’s see, why would Senator Obama get a special “protective barrier” around himself that nobody else gets. Hmmmm, what’s different about Senator Obama? Wait a minute? Could it be? I think Mr. Salter, senior advisor to Senator McCain may have just pulled out the race card and slammed it on the table.
What about evoking such names as “Hamas” and “Hugo Chavez,” could that be the fear card. Oh, how childish the Clinton and McCain camps have become.
It is good to know that we may have found the lesser of the evils; at least Senator Obama would not sink to this level. Writing a silly letter, disguised as a letter directed at talking some sense into another candidate, hoping the public will hear about it and be swayed by its hidden messages.
Oh my, how not true that is. Senator Obama’s camp responded to Senator McCain’s letter with a short response.
Beginning with “Clearly, losing one's bearings has no relation to age…” the response takes a turn to the retaliatory. There are descriptive words like “bizarre rant,” “distract,” and “attack..” Talk about a third George Bush term, about continuing George Bush’s failed economic policies, and failed strategy in Iraq. Then there’s “it's not the kind of campaign John McCain has promised the American people that he would run.”
Are these children and their playmates really the best candidates we can drum up from this entire country? Come on! All these people and there is not one more, somewhere in all these people that is better than these three?
Is this what any of these three would look like as president? It would be like putting a four year old in the Whitehouse as president.
I see that in looking for the lesser evil, we are going to have to dig real deep.
